What is a C Card
The C-Card is a confidential service for young people aged 14-18 years old. You can get condoms, lube and advice about relationships and sex. There are C-Card sites all over Manchester and the best thing is the service is completely free.
Even if you are under 14 you can still get condoms by visiting Brook Manchester or Fresh.
How does it work
Once you have registered with us, we will give you a C-Card. It's just like a cash card so it will fit easily in you purse, wallet or back pocket. When you want some condoms or lube just go along to one of our C-Card pickup or registration points and the C-Card worker will give you condoms, lube or both. They can also offer you information about sex and relationships so if there's anything you need to talk about they can help. Simple.
How do I get one and what will happen
You will need to register with us. This is easy. You need to go to one of our C-Card registration sites and ask to join the C-Card scheme. The service is completely confidential and we won't ask you for any personal details. All we need is your post code and date of birth. A C-Card worker will sit down with you in private and have a chat to make sure that you understand how the scheme works and make sure that you are happy with it. Anything you tell them will be in complete confidence. C Card workers are friendly and won’t judge you or look down on you. Don’t forget you can ask questions too. They will demonstrate how to put a condom on correctly and show you all the different types of condoms available. Then you get your card!
You will be able to use your card for 6 months. After 6 months we will issue you with a new card but you will need to have a chat with a C-Card worker first just to make sure everything is going OK.
You don’t need to be sexually active to register for a C Card, the scheme is open to anyone who is aged 14-16 and living in Manchester.
